Jang Gi U, a 32-year-old temporary high school teacher, has spent years moving between contract teaching jobs after an inappropriate rumor involving a student damaged his career prospects four years ago. Since then, he has never taken the teacher certification examination, leaving him stuck in a cycle of temporary employment. Although he continues working as a teacher, the incident has shaped his life and prevented him from moving forward with the career he once might have hoped for.
This Korean drama follows a man who has spent his entire life trying to meet society’s expectations of perfection. Raised by a single mother, Gi U grew up believing he had to become someone with “no flaws in the eyes of others.” He has built an image of a flawless person, yet beneath that carefully maintained exterior, his life feels empty, ordinary, and uneventful. While others may see him as someone who has everything under control, his story explores the pressure of living up to expectations and the struggle to find meaning in a seemingly unremarkable life.
